Eldercare Counselor

REPORTS TO: Eldercare Locator Senior Program Manager
The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging is seeking an experienced professional for the new position of Eldercare Counselor. As part of the Eldercare Locator Call Center, the position will be responsible for providing one-to-one, customized information, education and assistance to older persons, caregivers, and baby boomers to understand their long term care (LTC) choices. n4a is looking for an energetic professional, skilled in consumer information & assistance, knowledgeable of LTC options and consumer planning, and experienced in providing one-on-one assistance to consumers.

Information Specialist

The Information Specialist will be part of a state-of-the-art, person-centered call center designed to assist older adults, baby boomers, caregivers, professionals, and the general public nationwide. The Information Specialist will provide information on, and connections to, national and local resources for older adults and their caregivers. The Information Specialist will also follow up on voice messages, track data, and assist with other administrative issues involved in maintaining customer support and database updating. Shifts will be designed to cover 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Eastern Time, Monday-Friday. This is a fulltime position, flexibility in hours is required.

The Manager will help position the Eldercare Locator to be of assistance to today's and tomorrow's older adults and caregivers. The person selected will manage a new and enhanced Eldercare Locator Call Center and will be responsible for developing partnerships and collaborations to create innovative programs and initiatives to provide resources to older adults and caregivers and to connect them to resources at the local level.

Trainer on Aging Issues

The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) is seeking an experienced professional trainer to provide training on aging issues and resources to n4a staff and aging professionals. Part of the time will be devoted to ongoing training for n4a staff, partner staff and volunteers assigned to working on the Eldercare Locator. The other half of the time will be devoted to developing training programs for staff of n4a. Area Agencies on Aging and Title VI Native American aging programs.
