Overview
The Senior Resource Alliance's Driver Safety Program is designed to promote safe mobility for life in three ways: Community Education and Outreach; Driver Skill Assessments; and Mobility Counseling. The program serves seniors, caregivers, families, and social service professionals.

Budget/Funding
The agency's funding for the Driver Safety Program is supported through foundation grants, client revenues from driver skill assessments, private donations, and a federal grant awarded by the state. During fiscal year 2004, the agency utilized approximately $75,000 of its total budget for the Driver Safety Program.

Outcomes
A formal evaluation is in the planning stages and will be completed by the fall of 2005.

305 information and referrals contacts
309 vision screenings
54 driver skill assessments
26 media contacts

Role of Agency/Key Partners
The Senior Resource Alliance is the sponsoring agency for the Driver Safety Program, including one full-time staff member and one part-time consultant that administer the program.

Partners serve as referring agencies and also sponsor community outreach events.
