Overview
The Caregiver Resource Center of the Steuben County Office for the Aging serves as a clearinghouse for information and referral on a wide variety of caregiver topics, including help with older driver issues. The At-Risk Older Driver Program was initiated in 2001, and has since developed the "At-Risk Older Driver Help Manual." This manual is given to each of the partnering agencies to be used as a reference tool in their offices.

Budget/Funding
The At-Risk Older Driver Program costs are estimated at $500 per year.

Outcomes
The agency recently initiated a log sheet to track telephone inquiries regarding older driver safety in order to measure the volume and types of calls.

Role of Agency/Key Partners
The Steuben County Office for the Aging is the lead agency in the At-Risk Older Driver Program. The agency's Caregiver Coordinator chairs the At-Risk Older Driver Help Network, which is made up of representatives from local law enforcement, DMV, aging services, and the Veterans Administration.

Representatives from partnering agencies sit on the older driver committee and provide guidance and expertise from their respective disciplines. Partners also disseminate relevant At-Risk Older Driver Network information to their agency members.
