Long-Term Care Ombudsman Rules Take Effect

In February 2015, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) released a final rule to guide and clarify implementation of the components of the Older Americans Act governing grants to states to operate Long-Term Care Ombudsman programs.

The final rule took effect on July 1, 2016, at which time all state Ombudsman programs should have implemented requirements in the final rule. According to an announcement this week, ACL will continue to review and work with states over the coming months to ensure full compliance. More information and resources are available here.
