Spring Will Soon Be Budding with Aging Policy News

Lawmakers are still working to put final touches on an omnibus funding bill for the remaining six months of FY 2018, but the specifics on how aging programs fare won't be known until early next week. Meanwhile, Members of Congress and advocates are busy submitting their federal funding requests for FY 2019, and with the passage of the recent bipartisan budget agreement, we hope there will be more total funding to allocate to non-defense discretionary programs, including OAA and other key aging priorities.

Spring is always a hopping policy season in D.C., and this year is no different. n4a leaders and staff are also putting the final touches on the 2018 Policy Priorities, which will be released next month. And, if you haven't yet, check out the draft agenda and register for the upcoming n4a Aging Policy Briefing & Capitol Hill Day. This is a critical time of year to visit your Members of Congress and their staff in Washington, and to continue educating your elected officials about the importance of the programs and services you deliver to older adults and caregivers in their districts and states.
