n4a Joins NIH Dementia Care Research Summit

On Oct. 17, Nora Super, n4a's Chief of Programs and Services, will participate as a panelist in the National Research Summit on Care, Services, and Supports for Persons with Dementia and Their Caregivers, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

While registration for in-person attendance is at capacity, you can still register for the free videocast option, which will be live-streamed October 16-17 on videocast.nih.gov. The live stream will begin at 8 am ET on both days.

Super will join Shari M. Ling, MD of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide commentary on dementia specific models of care and general models of care that include persons with dementia, such as the duals-demonstration models and successful VA innovations. The two-day meeting marks one of the first national research summits focused primarily on comprehensive care, services and support for people with dementia, their families, and other caregivers. Researchers, service providers, persons with dementia, caregivers and other key stakeholder groups will convene at the NIH to identify research needed to improve quality of care and outcomes across care settings, including quality of life and the lived experience of persons with dementia and their caregivers.
