Coming off the heels of a bitter arctic blast and with months left in the winter season, it's important for communities to remember that freezing temperatures can lead to increased social isolation for older adults, particularly for those living with dementia. The Eldercare Locator's new brochure, Living Well with Dementia in the Community: Resources and Support connects these individuals and their caregivers to local services that keep them healthy and engaged in their communities.
While the holidays have come and gone, the Eldercare Locator's campaign to educate consumer about the home and community-based services for older adults with dementia and their caregivers is still in full force. The focal point of the campaign, Living Well with Dementia in the Community: Resources and Support, identifies steps individuals can take if they suspect that a loved one may have dementia, and highlights the many community services and supports available for both older adults with dementia and their caregivers.
Agencies have shared the brochure with older adults and local partners in communities around the country, but there are still plenty of copies to help your agency with its ongoing educational efforts! Visit the Eldercare Locator store to order your agency's copies today and use n4a's promotional toolkit to start a local conversation on living well with dementia!
