Dementia Friendly America Holds Semi-Annual Meeting of National Stakeholders

n4a hosted members of Dementia Friendly America's National Council at a meeting focused on DFA's highlights and successes across the year. DFA and the Dementia Friends program have seen exponential growth over the last year: there are now approximately 300 dementia friendly communities across the country and more than 62,000 Dementia Friends.

The goal of the National Council meeting was to gather feedback that would inform DFA's 2020 work plan, with a focus on future evaluation strategies. The meeting featured speakers with evaluation expertise, including representatives from Baylor, Scott & White; ACL; AARP; and the University of Nevada, Reno.

DFA's National Council is comprised of DFA's Executive Steering Committee, funders, national organizations and DFA pilot communities, which guide and shape the DFA initiative. n4a administers Dementia Friendly America and holds the US license for the Dementia Friends program.

Consider a 2020 goal of getting dementia-friendly work started in your community!
