Professionals in the Aging Network, human services and the research industry will better understand their role in community public health when they learn how the Detroit research study, “Dying Before Their Time,” is triggering systemic change, especially in a COVID-19 world. Ronald S. Taylor, President and CEO of the Detroit Area Agency on Aging, will join Dr. Herbert C. Smitherman, Jr., of the Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University School of Medicine to share key findings of research gathered over 20 years. What began as a search to uncover the reasons for premature deaths among people of color is now a catalyst to engage community-wide efforts to reduce health disparities and to address the socioeconomic determinants of health as well.

This webinar includes complimentary ASWB CE credits.
