As stay-at-home recommendations continue in many cities across the country, and social distancing becomes the new norm for interacting, the focus on social isolation and loneliness has become almost mainstream. According to the NIH, these conditions have been linked to higher risks for a variety of physical and mental health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, anxiety, depression, Alzheimer’s, and more.
