Executive Director
The Vermont Association of Area Agencies on Aging (V4A) seeks an Executive Director whose key role is to advance the mission and vision of the five Area Agencies on Aging in Vermont.

V4A believes that through leadership, partnership, coordination, innovation and advocacy, we create a broad spectrum of service delivery that value and support people, as they age or encounter disability, to live in their homes and communities with dignity and good quality of life. 

This position will direct, promote, and advocate for State and Federal legislative policy on behalf of V4A, and will partner with other State and Federal aging network associations, State and Federal agencies, and healthcare service delivery systems to advance policies and programs that support older adults and individuals with disabilities. This position reports to the Board of Directors.

Place of work is flexible, with a work from home option. This position requires regular local and regional travel (once pandemic restrictions allow) as well as occasional travel outside of state. This full time position provides a competitive salary based on experience, along with a robust benefits package.

Requirements This full time position provides a competitive salary based on experience, along with a robust benefits package. Minimum qualifications B.S/B.A. with five years paid experience advancing public policy, and planning, or a Masters with three years of paid experience advancing public policy and planning preferred. 

A combination of education and commensurate experience in public policy and/or home and community based service arena will be considered.  Prior experience in the health care /social /aging services arena also a plus.

The position requires excellent verbal and communication skills, and competencies in leadership, building consensus, developing strategic partnerships, effective advocacy, analyzing legislation and interpreting regulation.
